(Seriously, how much did we buy on this trip… 😱😱😱)
Today’s featured product is none other than Meiji Macadamia Chocolate!!
And not just any macadamia chocolate — these are packed with whole macadamia nuts!!
The quality of the chocolate is just as good as the image on the box (unbelievable, right?!)
Let’s dive into a review of this amazing chocolate!!

Drumroll please!! Before we get into the details, here’s a quick summary of Meiji Macadamia Chocolate...!!

Meiji Macadamia Chocolate
- Where to Buy: Mega Don Quijote, Sapporo, Hokkaido
- Price: 229 yen (duty-free) for a 64g box (9 pieces of chocolate)
Approximately 2,300 KRW
Available online in Korea as well — starting from around 5,000 KRW - Taste: Incredibly smooth milk chocolate
- Calories: 388 kcal per 64g box (9 pieces)
- Notable Features:
- Contains whole macadamia nuts
- The chocolates look exactly like the picture on the box (highly impressive!)
I took photos of all four sides of the box to show every detail (so much passion! 🔥)
The expiration date is clearly marked, and there’s also a tear line for easy opening!

As always, all the important info is on the back of the box!!!
It includes the ingredient list, weight, storage temperature, and even a super cute illustrated explanation of how Meiji Macadamia Chocolate is made (adorably detailed 💕).
And of course, for Chubby Mom’s daughter—who’s always dieting—this is crucial:
The calories are a whopping 388 kcal per box (64g)!!
Well… it is chocolate, so we couldn’t really expect it to be low-calorie 😭
Since it’s chocolate, the box also recommends storing it below 28°C.

To open the box, just follow the tear line on the front that I showed earlier — it opens up easily. (Exciting! 💓)

Tada~~~!! Once opened, you’ll see a super eye-catching red foil covering the bottom part of the box (ooh, fancy!! 😍)
It’s a really pretty shade of red… And on the inside of the box lid, there’s a friendly guide on how to open the individual chocolate wrappers!
Every time I see this, I can’t help but think — so thoughtful and detailed as always!

And as you might expect... the red foil (or is it plastic wrap?) packaging tears open super smoothly and cleanly. It just peels off so effortlessly — I really love these little thoughtful details.
Then, slowly but surely, the chocolates start to appear... (heart pounding!!! ❤️)

Here’s the box fully opened! There are a total of 9 chocolates inside, as shown in the photos below.
The top side of each chocolate has a curved pattern (kind of like a neatly combed hairdo), while the bottom is flat.
Each chocolate sits snugly in a molded tray, and thanks to the red foil (or plastic?) wrapping we saw earlier, the chocolates don’t shift around no matter how much you shake the box!! (Super solid!)

I transferred the chocolates to a dish to take some photos, and honestly, it really does look like someone combed their hair on top of each piece... so cute!
What I absolutely love is that, just like on the box, each chocolate contains a whole, large macadamia nut inside!! (Looks like Meiji is an honest company that doesn’t deceive customers 😭)
Just like with their green tea chocolate (check the review link at the bottom), Meiji really doesn’t overhype their products... (Simply the best!)

A close-up shot of the plump chocolates... Meiji really doesn’t lie. Just look at the generous amount of macadamia nuts inside!
Judging by the color, you can probably tell, but the chocolate is very smooth and sweet milk chocolate — no bitterness at all.

I’ve reviewed other chocolates I bought in Japan before, and while they were tasty, Chubby Mom’s daughter’s absolute favorite is this Macadamia Chocolate!!
The chocolate is really smooth, and with whole macadamia nuts inside, it has a great crunchy texture and a delicious nutty flavor!
I bought it at Mega Don Quijote in Sapporo, Hokkaido for 229 yen (tax-free). If I go back there again and could only buy one chocolate, it would definitely be this Macadamia Chocolate!
That’s how much I recommend it!! You should definitely give it a try!!!

And with that, I’ll wrap up today’s post!!
I hope you found this info helpful... Stay cool and take care, everyone!!!
That’s all for now... Cheers!!
