Drumroll please!!
Today, Chubby mom’s family is excited to introduce the coffee we've been seriously enjoying — like, really loving!
It’s none other than Illy Classico Coffee (Whole Bean)!!
I hope this helps anyone out there trying to choose the right coffee beans...
Now, let’s get into the real review!!

Ta-da!
Chubby mom’s family brews coffee together at home every weekend!!
And we usually make it using a drip method!!
After trying out all kinds of coffee beans, the one we’ve finally settled on is...
Illy Classico Classic Roast Coffee (100% Arabica beans) — and we get it in whole bean form (not pre-ground)!!
Even the coffee can looks beautiful...

The coffee can itself is super sleek, and all the info is nicely written on the side!
Since the can is round, I had to rotate it to take photos — not sure if I captured everything...
Each can contains 250g, and the price online seems to be around 12,000 to 15,000 KRW.

The lid is also really sleek — it’s a twist-off type.
And on the bottom of the can, you’ll find the expiration date, which is about 2 years from the manufacturing date!
The can is so pretty and airtight that once you finish the coffee, you can totally reuse it for other things!
Chubby mom’s family is already using the empty ones to store different kinds of tea!

Here’s what it looks like with the lid open!!
You twist it to open, and originally, when you first open a new can, there’s a sealed foil layer inside to keep air out.
But since I took these photos while we were already using it... I had already ripped that seal off, so I couldn’t take a picture of it!
Anyway… even the inside of the lid has a rubber-like lining to block out as much air as possible!
As you can see, we’ve already been using this can, so there’s not much coffee left —
but if it were brand new, it would’ve been filled to the top!

I scooped some beans into the lid and took a close-up shot!
They’re nicely roasted, and you can see a slight sheen of oil on them.
Chubby mom’s family prefers grinding whole beans ourselves and making drip coffee —
it’s a bit of a hassle, but we like it that way… (yes, we bring this on ourselves 😅).
So we’ve been faithfully sticking with whole beans only.
But! If whole beans feel like too much trouble, Illy also sells the same product pre-ground, in the same type of can —
so feel free to try that instead!

To show you what the brewed coffee looks like, I ground some beans using our trusty grinder!!
This is the grinder Chubby mom’s family uses —
it’s really old, probably been with us for about 15 years!!
Still works perfectly and hasn’t broken down once. We’ve gotten so much use out of it and it’s still going strong!

And here are the filter and coffee server that Chubby mom’s family also uses regularly (no separate paper filters needed!).

Carefully putting the freshly ground coffee into the filter... (working hard, working hard)

Chubby mom’s family’s beloved coffee kettle gently pouring water... (May it become delicious...)

It didn’t turn out perfectly this time, but usually, I put more coffee grounds in so I can capture the moment when the coffee blooms and rises up as I pour the water — such a missed photo opportunity!
Anyway, the crema (foam) comes out really well.
Here’s another great thing!!
With other beans I’ve tried, if you pour water right in the center, it creates a groove and makes brewing uncomfortable.
But with Illy coffee, whether you pour water in the center or around the edges, the grounds don’t form a groove — the surface stays nice and flat!
Seriously, that’s awesome!!!!!
The crema, plus the way it gently blooms and breathes as it rises, was my first experience with Illy coffee — totally impressive.
That’s why we’re already on our 10th can...

Ta-da~~ Even without much skill, the coffee is done anyway!!
A beautifully rich and smooth coffee is just like that — all ready to enjoy...

Now, carefully pouring the precious coffee into the cup...
Just look at that clean, rich, and beautiful coffee color...

Warm coffee is ready!!
If you imagined it would be bitter or harsh because of the dark color, think again...
And here’s the second amazing thing — with other coffees, I often got a bitter taste after brewing, but with Illy coffee brewed exactly the same way, I’ve never experienced bitterness even once.
It’s really surprising... just a rich and clean flavor!!
There’s no burnt or bitter taste to be found...
It’s truly a premium coffee experience...

And of course, we can’t forget the iced Americano!!!
Chubby mom’s daughter absolutely loves it, so we made some iced coffee too!! (Excited excitement)

Ta-da-da-da-da!!!
A seriously mouthwatering iced coffee is ready!!!
Even iced, you can truly taste that rich, deep, and premium coffee flavor ㅜㅜㅜ
Absolutely love it...

Anyway, today I reviewed the Illy coffee (whole beans) that Chubby mom’s family truly loves and is already on our 10th can!
I hope this helps anyone interested in coffee!!!
That’s all for now!! Cheers cheers!!
