Ta-da~ Once again, your trusty correspondent from Ddung’s Mom’s blog is back!! 😎
Today, I’m introducing another must-try eatery in Sinsakji, Yongsan!
It’s none other than a spot famous for Kalguksu (knife-cut noodles) and Sujebi (hand-torn noodle soup) —
Sikdorak Handmade Kalguksu in Sinsakji!
And especially in summer? They serve an incredibly chewy and refreshing cold soybean Kalguksu!
Let the review begin~ (Cue the drums: doong-gi doong-gi doong-doong! 🥁)

First off, here’s the location of Sikdorak Handmade Kalguksu in Sinsaekji, Yongsan, Seoul...
I wasn’t sure which map you’d prefer, so guess what—I brought them all! (Tehe~ 😜)

Sikdorak Handmade Kalguksu in Sinsaekji is conveniently located near Exits 1 to 3 of Samgakji Station, just like on the map above.
But! If you ask Ddung’s Mom’s daughter for the best route—it's Exit 1, hands down! 😎
Come out of Exit 1, turn around the corner by Woori Bank, and walk straight—you’ll see it right away. I personally think it’s the easiest way to get there!
Unfortunately, I forgot to snap a photo of the entrance during my visit today (ugh, silly me 😭),
so I borrowed a picture from Naver Maps. As you can see in the leftmost photo below, the place has an old-fashioned sign that says Sikdorak Handmade Kalguksu.
It may look a bit worn from the outside, but don’t be fooled—it’s a real hidden gem with seriously chewy noodles! 🍜✨

When you step inside, it really feels like you’ve walked into someone’s home—super cozy and homey! 🏡
One important thing to note: you have to take off your shoes before entering, so don’t forget! 👟🚫
Including the tables in the private room, it looked like there were more than 10 tables in total.
The private room was quite spacious too—it seemed like it could easily fit 10 or more people!
They don’t just serve Kalguksu and Sujebi either—they’ve got dinner menu items too,
so if you’re looking for a place for a team dinner or group outing, I definitely recommend it! 🍽️✨

And below is a photo of the menu hanging on the wall!
At Sikdorak Handmade Kalguksu in Samgakji, they don’t just serve Sujebi and Kalguksu—
you’ll also find a wide variety of dishes like Samhap (fermented skate combo), Agujjim (braised spicy monkfish), Bossam (boiled pork wrap), raw skate, and seafood pancakes, just to name a few!
If you’re feeling adventurous, it’s definitely worth exploring the full menu.
This is actually a spot I (Ddung’s Mom’s daughter 😎) often visit for lunch,
and the two dishes I always enjoy are the Perilla Seed Sujebi and the Clam Kalguksu!
They’re seriously delicious—the perilla seed broth is rich and nutty, and the dough for both the sujebi and the noodles is insanely chewy and satisfying. 💯
But today... it was 37°C (98.6°F)! 🥵
So naturally, my friend and I wanted to avoid anything too hot.
We went with a seasonal summer menu item instead: ice-cold Kongguksu (soybean noodle soup)!!! ❄️🥢
(Don’t worry—I'll definitely come back with a full review of their hot Kalguksu and Sujebi once the weather cools down a bit!)
Now—if you’re imagining the usual thin noodles in your typical Kongguksu... think again!!
This version is totally different because—get this—they use their signature chewy Kalguksu noodles in the soybean broth!!
(Mind = blown 🤯)

Whoa whoa—let’s calm down for a second 😅
After placing our order for the cold Kongguksu with the lovely owner, we went ahead and set the table while waiting for the food to arrive.
The utensils, as you can see in the photo below, are neatly stored in a side drawer at each table—right next to the tissues. Super convenient! 🥢🧻

After a short wait, the owner brought us water, side dishes, and a small dish of salt—the salt was specifically for the Kongguksu, in case we wanted to season it to our taste!
But now... the real stars of the show: the kimchi.
One is gat-kimchi (mustard leaf kimchi), and the other is geotjeori (fresh, lightly fermented kimchi).
And both? Absolutely phenomenal. 💥
Honestly, I can say with full confidence that Sikdorak serves the best kimchi in all of Yongsan—no exaggeration.
It’s seriously next-level.
As noted on the menu, the kimchi is homemade by the owner herself, and you can really taste the love and care in every bite. 🥬❤️

And finally… the cold Kongguksu has arrived!! 🥶✨
It’s served with floating ice cubes to keep it extra refreshing, and topped with shredded cucumber for that crisp bite.
It was so hot today that both my friend and I went with the same dish—we both ordered the cold Kongguksu without hesitation! 😵💫☀️
(Don’t worry—I'll definitely come back with a full review of the Kalguksu and Sujebi once the weather cools down a bit. Just hang in there a little longer~ 😆)

At first, when the noodles were still swimming in the soybean broth, I didn’t realize...
but when I lifted them up—WOW!! These noodles are totally different from what you usually find in Kongguksu places!!
True to their reputation for handmade noodles, they actually used handmade kalguksu noodles in the cold soybean soup!! 😭✨
Using kalguksu noodles instead of the usual thin noodles made the dish look even more appetizing.
And because these are handmade kalguksu noodles... the chewiness is next level—seriously so chewy and pleasantly springy!
The texture was amazing, which made the whole dish taste even better. 😭🍜❤️

The broth had the perfect balance—not too thick, not too thin—just right, with a rich and nutty flavor that was really delicious!
There were some cucumber slices as a topping, but honestly, the amount felt a bit small. As a veggie lover, I wished there were a few more! 🥒😊

Behold... once again, Ddung’s Mom’s daughter finished it all... (spotlessly clean)
Honestly, my stomach might as well be a bottomless pit... (I’ll stop here 😂)
The kimchi was so delicious that even after getting seconds, I devoured it all again!!
It was seriously refreshing and nutty—perfect for hot summer days!
If you’re a noodle fanatic, I highly recommend giving this place a try. 🍜🔥

If you want to experience seriously chewy noodles…!!
If you want to try a refreshing summer specialty, the cold Kong Kalguksu…!!
I highly recommend Sikdorak Handmade Kalguksu in Sinsaekji, Yongsan, Seoul.
(My honest review—paid with my own money, no ads!)
That’s it for today’s review…
It’s been insanely hot all week, so please take good care of your health, everyone!!
Alright then… signing off—Bye Bye!! 👋😄
