As anyone who's been to Vietnam would agree… mango products are an absolute must when it comes to souvenirs. Why, you ask?
Because they’re delicious and so cheap!!
In Korea, mangoes are crazy expensive 😭, but in Vietnam? You can indulge to your heart’s content at unbelievably low prices. Add Vietnam’s already super affordable cost of living into the mix and boom—a heavenly combo that’ll make any traveler cry tears of joy. (Seriously… I miss it so much 😭)
Anyway! Let’s get back on track. (Focus, focus!)
When our family traveled to Da Nang last year, we stocked up on tons of mango products. Of course, we loved the Cherish Mango Pudding I mentioned before, but the real MVP we’ve been enjoying nonstop is... this dried mango right here!!
XOAI SAY DRIED MANGO (Dried Mango Snack)
- Where to Buy: Lotte Mart, Da Nang, Vietnam
- Price: 320,000 VND for a bundle of 10 packs
→ Approx. 16,000 KRW total (~1,600 KRW per pack!) - Key Features:
• Each pack contains 4 thick, chunky slices of dried mango
• Sweet flavor with a soft and chewy inside, dry sugar-coated outside
• Very satisfying and generously portioned
• No calorie information listed
• Shelf life: 1 year - Ingredients:
• Mango 95%
• Sugar 5%
The front of the packaging features a cute mango illustration, and there’s a clear window so you can see the delicious contents inside.
On the right side of the package, the expiration date is clearly printed—it’s good for a whole year!
Hehehe… ours hasn’t expired yet, so we’re still happily snacking on them over here at Ddung-i Mom’s house!
Last year in Vietnam, I think we bought around 50 packs (we picked up 5 sets, each with 10 packs 😅)… but now?
Only 2 packs left… 😭 The sadness is real.
On the back of the package, you’ll find the ingredient list and storage instructions.
But… no calorie info in sight!! (Gasp 😱)
I’m dying to know… but I’ll hold back for now.
(Maybe calories just aren't a thing in Vietnam? 😭 Meanwhile, this piggy cries...)
At the very bottom, you can clearly see it says Made in Vietnam—love that little detail.
What really surprised me, though, is the ingredient list: 95% mango, 5% sugar.
That’s it! Nothing else added. Super simple and clean!
At the top, there’s a clearly marked tear line—
and unlike the Cherish Mango Pudding cup (which gave me a bit of a battle 😅),
this one opens super smoothly and cleanly.
Bravo, seriously… 👏👏
Behold—photo evidence of the neatest, most satisfying tear ever!
Even after you tear off the opening, the inside has a clever rubber seal, so you can reseal it and keep the mango fresh—vacuum-style!
*Well done, whoever designed this! 👏
Ta-da! When you take everything out, you’ll find a total of 4 slices inside.
Wait, only four?? Our family was a bit surprised at first…
But don’t be disappointed! (See the unboxing photo below 👀)
If you look closely, you can see the sugar coating on the mango slices.
It’s there, but not overly sugary—just the right amount!
Ta-da-da-daaan!!! Just look at that thickness!!!
This is exactly why I said don’t be disappointed—
even though there are only 4 slices, they’re thick and chunky,
so just one slice feels super satisfying and filling. (Seriously, they’re plump!)
Here’s a close-up of a dried mango slice, cut open to show the inside! (Carefully done with love 💕)
Just look at how thick it is...
Even in the photo, you can almost feel that chewy texture!
The outside is dry with a dusting of sugar, but inside, it’s still moist and tender—classic dried mango goodness.
It’s a generous, chewy, sweet combo that’s honestly a dream.
Because the slices are so plump and filling, I usually cut one slice in half—eat a bit, then save the rest for the next day.
The price is also super reasonable (about 1,600 KRW per pack), so if you want to enjoy generous, chewy, and sweet dried mango, I highly recommend picking some up when you’re in Vietnam!
Seriously… if you want to eat mangoes to your heart’s content without breaking the bank, Vietnam is the place to be…!!!
Alright, that’s it for today’s post!
It was ridiculously hot again today… and your girl, Ddung-i Mom’s daughter, really struggled with the heat… 😭 (boohoo)
Everyone, please take good care and stay safe in this heat!!!
Till next time—bye-bye!!! 👋👋
