삿포로 Day4_썸네일

Since it was our last day, the schedule was super simple — we had to head straight to the airport. First, we made our way back to Asahikawa, where the airport is located, with a quick stop at a rest area along the way.

Suddenly, everyone rushed to the vending machines at the rest stop (me included!!). 😂 The sky was so clear and blue (absolutely dazzling ✨), and the air was incredibly fresh… Sky, you can do whatever you want — you’re perfect. 💙

Next, we arrived at the Otokoyama Sake Brewery Museum! Inside, we got to see the sake brewing process up close, and on the top floor, we all watched an informational video together.

I never really knew how sake was made before, but now I do — and I learned that the more expensive the sake, the more the rice is polished down to use only the purest part of the grain. Fascinating!

As always, Ddoong-i Mom naturally struck a pose again (at this point, I think she believes she’s a professional model 😂)... and of course, her daughter (me!) captured the moment. Click click! 📸

After that, we took a photo in front of the giant Otokoyama sake bottle model outside the museum. I asked for a dynamic pose, but Ddoong-i Mom simply smiled sweetly and held up an imaginary sake cup... shy and gentle — seriously, way too adorable 😭😭😭

Oh! And Otokoyama sake is apparently made using the pure, untouched snowmelt from Mount Daisetsu’s eternal snow. There’s even a spring water spot at the brewery, kind of like a small well, where locals can come and collect the water for free. When we visited, some residents were actually there filling up bottles!

Such a wonderful place... I’m so jealous of the locals! 💧✨

In the building next to the brewery, there was a sake tasting area where you could sample different types of Otokoyama sake. HanaTour provided us with special tokens, so we could enjoy the tasting for free.

You just insert a token into the machine, press the button for the sake you want, and it pours you a tasting-sized glass — so cool! Each person received two tokens from HanaTour, but since Ddoong-i Mom and her daughter don’t drink, they passed theirs to the son. And so... the son proudly enjoyed six glasses of sake all by himself. A true champ. 😎🍶

The most expensive sake at Otokoyama wasn’t included in the free tasting — you had to pay 200 yen to try it. But it seemed like most visitors were more than happy to pay and give it a taste.

I’m not exactly a sake expert, so I can’t really judge… but one thing I could tell for sure — it was incredibly clean and smooth. (Feeling a bit timid saying this... 😅)

After that, it was time for lunch — let’s go!! 🍱 We headed to a tempura set meal restaurant located on the top floor of a shopping mall next to the bus terminal. The set was simple but perfectly satisfying: grilled fish, a variety of tempura, salmon sashimi, pumpkin salad, and miso soup. Everything was beautifully presented and seriously delicious. I think this trip might be the first where the whole family cleaned their plates every single meal!

During our Vietnam trip, Ddoong-i Mom and Dad struggled a bit with the food and often left things unfinished. But Japanese food? Totally their style — they loved it! 🙌 For dessert, we got ice cream, and of course, we happily devoured it.

After lunch, we were given some free time. We crossed over to the arcade across from the restaurant and tried our luck at the claw machines... several times... but failed every single attempt. 😭💔 Wounded and defeated, we consoled ourselves with coffee at the Starbucks on the first floor. (And yes... I completely forgot to take any photos. 😭 Ugh, silly me...)

Then it was back on the bus — zoom zoom! — straight to Asahikawa Airport. 🚌✈️  On the way, I tried snapping a photo out the window because Mount Daisetsu looked so stunning… but no matter how many shots I took, the beauty just didn’t come through. 😭 The snow-covered mountains were absolutely huge, wide, and majestic — but in the photos, you can barely see them… sigh. (From the left to the right side of the photo — it’s all Mount Daisetsu!) It was so clear and vivid when I saw it with my own eyes... sniff sniff 😢

After arriving at the airport and finishing check-in, we made a quick stop at the duty-free store, where we bought some Royce chocolates (of course!), and then it was time to board our flight home. 🍫✈️

< Important tip >

Asahikawa Airport is a very small airport, so mobile check-in is not available! Even if you’ve purchased a round-trip ticket and easily checked in via mobile at Incheon Airport, you must arrive at Asahikawa Airport early and pick up a physical paper ticket directly at the Asiana Airlines counter.

Because it’s such a small airport, the processing can be a bit slow, so I highly recommend getting there early to avoid any stress or delays!

Of course, I managed to snap a photo of the Asiana Airlines airshow during the flight! Finally, we arrived back in Korea… (Goodbye, Hokkaido 😭😭 I’ll come back again for sure!!)

After landing, we picked up our luggage right away. Just after the baggage claim on the first floor, there’s a kiosk where you can book limousine bus tickets. We quickly reserved a bus that was leaving in 10 minutes, then rushed over to the bus stop to catch it just in time!

The bus ride was comfortable, and soon we were on our way home.  If anyone’s planning to take the limousine bus, here’s a tip: after picking up your luggage at Terminal 1, just go straight ahead and you’ll see the kiosk to book your ticket.

삿포로 Day4_사진9

On the bus ride home, I caught a glimpse of the sunset!! The sun was huge and bright red, but... of course, the photo didn’t do it justice. The moment I took it, I felt so disappointed. 😭 Can you see that tiny red dot? Yep, that’s the sun... (But it’s definitely not how it looked in real life! 😩)

What was really amazing, though, was seeing something rare: the sun shining on the left side of the bus and the moon glowing on the right side at the same time. Both were huge and beautiful, but of course, no photo could capture their true magic.

Here’s a picture of the moon outside the right window — if you look closely between the trees in the center, you can spot the tiny white moon hanging there. 🌙✨

And so, Ddoong-i Mom and the family safely arrived home, quickly washed up, and fell asleep right away. It was a tough trip at times, but overall, it was incredibly rewarding and full of happiness.

Everyone unanimously agreed — let’s definitely come back to Hokkaido! We’re already planning to visit again in winter, and I’ll be sure to write another review then! (Stay tuned, stay tuned, stay tuned!)

And that’s a wrap on the Ddoong-i Mom family’s 4-day, 3-night Hokkaido trip in 2025~~~~~~~~~~!!!

In the next post, I’ll share some of the best finds we bought at the Mega Don Quijote in Hokkaido — definitely stuff you’ll want to know about! So stay tuned for that too (boop boop boop boop~~).

Alright then... signing off for now! Bye bye~
